Sean Jackson joined the University of Virginia Physicians Group as its Chief Information Officer (CIO) in December 2011. He is also the CIO of the University of Virginia School of Medicine. In this dual role he has operational responsibility for the Information Technology function across both organizations.
A “Lean” practitioner and Six Sigma Black Belt, Sean has more than 20 years of experience leading technology operations in complex non-profit and higher education organizations including six years in various technology leadership roles at Yale University and five years as the Director of Advanced Technologies at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Sean established and led the global PMO for Stanley Black and Decker where he was responsible for IT portfolio management and strategy deployment (Hoshin Kanri).
